How to make a unicorn valentines box that you can feed your valentines to

Ok I’m kinda of proud of this one! My son requested a unicorn Valentine’s box for his class Valentine’s party but it couldn’t just be any kind of unicorn. It had to be the unicorn character wearing shades from the Kahoots game that he loves playing at school. The unicorn also had to have his mouth open so his classmates could feed him all their Valentine cards. Ok I can do that…right!? Let’s how this turns out lol.

How to Make a Unicorn Valentine’s Box

  1. Wrap the box in white butchers paper
  2. Use another scrap piece of cardboard and sketch out the ears and horn. Add an extra half inch of cardboard to the bottom of the ear so you can attach it to the inside of the box
  3. Use the craft blade to cut out the ears and horn
  4. Wrap the ears and horn in white butchers paper
  5. Lay out where you want the ears and horn to sit on the side of the box and use the craft knife to cut a slit through the butcher paper and cardboard box
  6. Slide the ears and horn through the slit and apply a little bit of hot glue down into the slit too to hold them in place
  7. Use a pencil to sketch out the unicorn face
  8. Then use the craft knife to cut out the unicorn mouth
  9. Color the unicorn face to your liking and marvel at your creation. Check out our final product in the picture below.
