Make a Haunted House

How cute is this DIY haunted house?! We love any type of craft that can be used as a spooky decoration. So when we found some wooden haunted house cutouts, wooden stickers, and LED lights at Dollar Tree, we knew we had to make a glowing haunted house! Check out the video below to see our final result.

Make a Spooky Fireplace Decoration

Here’s another Halloween craft that can be used as a spooky decoration. We just grabbed some wooden ghost cutouts, creepy cloth, and paint from Dollar Tree. Then each of my kids were able to paint a ghost however they liked. Once dry, we draped the cloth across our fireplace mantle and attached the ghosts to create a fun Halloween decoration. Check out our Instagram video below to see the whole process.

Witches Beauty Salon and Zombie Tattoo Parlor

How to make a witches beauty salon from an empty pizza box

Here’s another Halloween activity that’s always a hit in my house each year! After we have pizza, we use the empty pizza boxes to make a witches salon and a zombies tattoo parlor. To set up, I just draw a witches or a zombies face on the inside of the pizza box lid. Then I’ll set out markers, paints, old makeup, and nail polish and have the kids open their beauty salon and tattoo parlor. We can usually get at least on hours play out of this one! Check out our Instagram video below.

Rip and Glue Pumpkin

How to make a "rip and glue" pumpkin

This one was a hit with my 2 year old. She loved ripping up a sheet of orange, black, and green construction paper (while getting in lots of fine motor exercise). Then she got some practice with a glue stick gluing the orange pieces of paper to a pumpkin shaped cutout and then adding the jack-o-lanterns face and stem. This is a great activity for destructive toddlers!

Supplies you will need:

Monster Haircuts

Monster haircuts is also another great activity for toddlers! For this one, I just drew some spooky halloween characters. For their hair, I cut even strips to make their hair fringey. Then I laid out a pair of scissors and asked my toddler to give the monsters a haircut. She had a blast while getting in lots of supervised practice with scissors.
