As you probably already know if you read through some of my posts, my family loves to celebrate all holidays with some type of craft! If it’s a simple, but adorable craft, than even better. I’ve comprised a great list of some really cute and simple Thanksgiving crafts that even your toddler can do. I currently have a 2, 5, and 7 year old and these crafts are easy enough for the 2 year old to do and entertaining enough for the 7 year to still want to join in. So let’s have a look!

Supplies Needed for the Turkey Handprint Craft:
- Washable paint – we used brown, yellow, green, red, orange, and black. I linked my favorite washable paint below. I always use this paint whenever making handprint crafts with my 2 year old because it’s so easy to clean up and I’ve never had it stain any clothing or counter tops.
- Paint brush
- White paper – I always recommend thicker cardstock paper whenever making handprint crafts so that the paint doesn’t make the paper soggy and rip or crumble up. I’ve linked my favorite cardstock paper that I use for most of my crafts and all of my free printables that you can find on my blog.
- Scissors – Look how pretty these iridescent purple scissors are. So fun for crafting!
How to Make the Turkey Handprint Craft:
1. Paint the palm of your hand in the color configuration that’s shown in the picture below. The palm and the thumb should be brown for the turkey body and head while the other four fingers should each be a different color for the turkeys feathers.
2. Press the painted hand onto your paper firmly and then lift the hand carefully off of the paper
3. Then use the paintbrush to add on an orange beak and feet, a red snood hanging from the beak, and a black eye.
4. Allow this to dry
5. Optional: Using scissor cut around the handprint. You don’t have to do this part but I like to so that I can hang several crafts on my door as decorations

Fall Leaf Stamping Craft
This leaf stamping craft is super easy and a great one to start your younger toddlers out with. It provides a lot of fine motor practice and is a fun way to introduce them to paint (washable paint!). All you’ll need is an empty toilet paper roll, washable paint, and a piece of paper.
How to Stamp Fall Leaves
1. Take your empty toilet paper roll and pinch one end to form a leaf shape. Refer to the picture below to see the intended shape
2. Next, dip the leaf shaped end of the toilet paper roll into the washable paint
3. Then stamp the toilet paper roll onto the piece of paper
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to form a larger leaf
5. Then use a paintbrush and paint on a leaf stem
6. Allow them to dry and cut them out to hang up as fall decorations

How to Stamp Turkeys:
1. Grab an empty toilet paper roll. Keep one end of the toilet paper roll circular but pinch the other end into the shape of a feather. See the picture below for reference on how the feather end should look.
2. Next dip the circular end in brown paint and stamp the turkey’s body onto the white piece of paper
3. Then flip the toilet paper roll over and dip the feather end into the red paint and stamp a feather above the brown circle
4. Repeat step 3 three more times with a different color each time but space the feathers out above the brown circle. See the picture below of my 2 year old stamping the fourth feather
5. Then we used the paint brush to paint on a cute little face! I think these turned out super cute and are definitely gonna be hung as Thanksgiving decor in my house

Thankful Turkey Book
One of my favorite traditions to do with my kids during the month of November is to discuss all the things we are thankful for. My 2 year old loved drawing pictures of all the things she was thankful for while my 5 year old enjoyed practicing her new found writing skills to express her thankfulness. Below is a quick video tutorial from my Instagram showing how to create this adorable Thankful Turkey Book.

Fall Fingerprint Craft
How cute are these fall fingerprints?! My 2 year old loved getting her fingers messy by stamping fingerprints all over our paper. Then we worked together and thought of different fall items that we could turn the fingerprints into. Using a black gel pen we added some details to bring the fall items to life. My favorite is definitely the turkey!
All you’ll for this craft is paper, stamp pads, and a black pen. I’ve linked a pretty great set of stamp pads that comes in 12 different colors at an awesome price.
Sight Word Turkey Feathers
Anyone else have a kindergartener working on their color sight words?! This was a fun way for my kindergartener to practice her sight words while also being creative! She was to match the colored sticker to the feather with the correct color sight word listed. This crafty activity can also be modified for a toddler that’s working on color recognition. In each feather, you could already have a different colored sticker placed. Then they would place all the stickers with that same color into that feather. The image below was her final product. I think it turned out great!
Below I have linked some of the foam stickers that I used for this activity.
Thankful Tree
How awesome is this Thankful Tree? And the fact that it’s made from a recycled cardboard box makes it even better. Check out our Instagram video to see how we made this Thankful tree.
