Y’all know we love a good stamping craft over here! Searching the house for things to dip in paint and stamp is such a great way for kids to be creative and to utilize things they see around them everyday in a different and unique way. Creating art through stamping is also a fun way for young kids to get in lots of hand eye coordination and fine motor practice.
With all that being said, I have created another free printable template for you to download and print for your arts and crafts sessions. This free printable is a Stamp the Sheep craft that allows kids to choose their own stamping tool that they’ll use to stamp the sheep’s wool. These free printables are so great because they take out all the prep work for you! Just hit the download button below and print off the FREE Stamp the Sheep craft.

What you’ll need:
- Printed Stamp the Sheep PDF
- Washable paint
- Paint holder (We usually use a disposable plate for easy clean up)
- Stamping tool (ie cotton ball, q-tip, empty toilet paper roll, Do-A-Dot marker, sponge, etc)
How to use the Stamp the Sheep printable:
1. Click the download button above and print the Stamp the Sheep PDF
- Tip: I always print my PDF templates out on cardstock whenever I plan to let my kids apply paint to the paper. Regular printer paper will sometimes rip if it gets too wet from the paint and we don’t want any meltdowns when we’re having a fun craft time. I have linked my favorite cardstock below that I recommend using for this craft.
- Tip: If you’re planning on using white paint to stamp the sheep’s wool, then print the PDF out on colored cardstock. That way the white paint has a pretty colored background to show up on
2. Next set out you paint holder (I usually use a disposable plate) and squirt some of your washable paint on it
3. Search the house for what type of item you’ll use to stamp the sheep wool. Some good ideas include a cotton ball (I use a clothes pin to hold the cotton ball so you don’t get paint on your fingers), q-tips, toilet paper roll, finger, Do-A-Dot markers, or even glue down cotton balls
4. Dip the chosen stamp into the paint and stamp the sheep’s wool on his body and head. Below are images of different ideas for how to use this free Stamp the Sheep PDF
We hope you love this free printable. If you do, check out some of our other FREE printable crafts linked below.
