My kids LOVE marshmallows. They would eat a whole bag of them if we let them. So when we found a pack of edible markers, we knew we had to use them to decorate marshmallows. We decided to set up a family fun night making Marshmallow Creations!
The supplies you’ll need:
- Frosting or melted white chocolate
- Bag of regular size marshmallows
- Bag of miniature marshmallows
- Toothpicks
- Edible markers (We used Betty Crocker Easy Writer and they wrote way better than I had ever expected)
- Scissors
Use your imagination to make whatever type of creations you can think of. You could make animals, people, drawings, etc. My family made a variety of things to include a bunny, pig, giraffe, spiky hair boy, Captain America shield, and a MTV logo.
Here are some tips:
- Use the regular sized marshmallows for heads and bodies
- Use the miniature marshmallows for arms, legs, tails, necks, etc
- Use toothpicks to attach marshmallows together. For example, you can use a toothpick to attach a head to a body, arms or legs to a body, or bunny ears on a top of a head (like my picture below)
- You can also use toothpicks to make hair or to make arms and legs
- Use frosting or melted white chocolate to attach marshmallows together. My husband used frosting to attach the head on his giraffe that’s pictured below
- Use scissors to cut the marshmallows to make different shapes. In the picture below, I cut two triangle shapes off the side of a marshmallow to make the pigs ears.
- Use the edible markers to draw on any faces or to color a pictures like the MTV logo that my husband drew
These are just a few ideas that we came up with when making our Marshmallow Creations. You can use these ideas or get creative and come up with more fun ideas for your creations! I’d love to hear what your family made in my comments below. Have fun!
