How to setup up this St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt:
- Download and print the FREE St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt by clicking the DOWNLOAD button below. I recommend printing these out on cardstock paper so they are more durable and don’t crumple or rip in the middle of all the fun! The cardstock paper that was linked above can be used in most printers and is a great option for all of our free printables.
- Cut out each of the clues. You’ll notice that there is a larger initial note introducing the scavenger hunt and 10 clues that are numbered in order on the coin.
- Set the larger note out where your kids will see it. For example, I lay this note on the kitchen table so my kids will see it when they get home from school.
- Then hide each of the clues in order with the next clue being hidden in the place of the previous clue’s answer. For example, the answer to clue number 1 is the freezer. So clue number 2 should be placed in the freezer and so on.
- Then place a small prize where the final clue number 10 leads to. The prize can be anything you want but I usually like for it to stay on theme. So I get out my miniature pots of gold, place a piece of candy in the bottom, and then put some plastic golden coin on top. My kids go crazy when they see the pot of gold! Check out the picture below of my pot of gold hanging on out coat rack (which is where the final clue leads you to). I have linked the miniature pots and coins above in the supplies section if you are interested in using this same prize at the end.
- Then have your kids read the initial note and follow the clues as they search for the leprechaun and his pot of gold.
My kids absolutely LOVE these scavenger hunts and always request more. I hope this St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt is as big as a hit in your house as ours.
