Here’s an easy winter craft for those days when it’s just too cold to be playing outside! To setup this craft, search around your house for anything that is circular that you can dip in paint and stamp a circle with. Get your kids involved! This is a great way to practice their shapes and recognizing circles. During our search, we found an empty toilet paper roll, bottle cap, jumbo milkshake straw, and q-tips.
Once you’ve found some circular stamping tools, grab some washable paint and construction paper. You’ll need white, black, brown, and orange paint to create your snowman. Then you can get to stamping snowmen!
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Pour your paint onto a plate
- Dip your toilet paper roll in the white paint and stamp it onto your construction paper three times in a row to make the snowman’s body
- Then use a q-tip and dip it in the black paint
- Stamp the q-tip with black paint to make eyes, a mouth, and buttons on the snowman
- You can also use the q-tip and black paint to paint a hat on the snowman’s head
- Use another q-tip dipped in the orange paint to create an orange carrot nose for the snowman
- Lastly, use a q-tip dipped in brown paint to create stick arms
- Continue making more snowmen with your other circular stamps. The bottle cap and milkshake straw are some great options.
