Supplies Needed for the Princess Castle Valentines Box

For this valentines box, I used a lot of recycled cardboard, supplies I already had at the house, and just hit my local Dollar Tree up for a lot of the wrapping paper. I love my Dollar Tree because I can get sooooo many craft supplies for very little money. However, I’ve gone ahead and linked some comparable supplies from Amazon that would be great options to use for this project. So you can click each of the supply links and grab whatever supplies you need!

How to Make the Princess Castle Valentines Box

  1. First, grab the medium size box and sketch where you would like the castle doors.
  2. Then, use the box cutters to cut a slit in the center of the doors and at the top of the doors leaving the left and right sides attached. Doing this allows the doors to still open and close.
  3. Next, wrap the medium size box in the pink wrapping paper making sure to cut open the area where the doors are. Also wrap the doors with a separate sheet of wrapping paper. We wrapped our doors in the glittery wrapping paper so that they stood out from the pink walls of the castle.
  4. Next, wrap the smaller box in the pink wrapping paper and hot glue it to the top of the medium box.
  5. Then, cut out a silver railing from the silver wrapping paper and hot glue that around the top edge of the medium and small box.
  6. Next, wrap each of the empty paper towel rolls and toilet paper rolls with the purple wrapping paper. These will be the castle’s towers.
  7. Then, hot glue each of the castle towers into place. The 2 larger paper towel rolls will go on the left and right side of the medium box. The 3 smaller toilet paper rolls will go on the left and right side of the smaller box and on the top of the smaller box.
  8. Next, use the cardstock and twist it to form a cone shape and tape it into place.
  9. Then, use the scissors to cut off any excess paper. This is going to be the peak of the towers.
  10. Cover the cardstock with the glittery wrapping paper and tape it into place.
  11. Repeat steps 8, 9, and 10 four more times to make all of the tower peaks.
  12. Then hot glue the tower peaks onto the top of each tower.
  13. Next, use the princess stickers to add a princess on each side of the door and on the front center of the smaller box. These are going to be the windows with princesses looking out of them.
  14. Next, outline each sticker window with the self adhesive rhinestones. This will complete the windows and help them look more like an actual window.
  15. Then, use the rhinestones to add anymore details to the princess castle that you’d like.
  16. Lastly, hot glue the princess figures onto the princess castle.

Now we have an awesome princess castle valentine box with opening and closing doors. This will be such a hit during my daughter’s Valentine class party for kids to open the castle doors and insert the Valentine cards inside. Check out the video below of our final princess castle Valentine box with the opening and closing doors.
