You may have noticed by now, but I love to get crafty with my kids whenever I can. So why not make some fun Valentines with my 5 year old daughter. She loves all things girly – jewelry, dress up, princesses, etc. So I knew she’d love to make Valentines for her class out of the big gem rings and candy bracelets that I found at the Dollar Tree. While I was there, I also found a pack of heart covered skinny ziplock bags. So I bought those too and knew I’d use those to put the ring and bracelet in and would have to just design a cute little valentine card to attach to the ziplock bag. I designed a fun little gem valentine card and thought I would provide it to all of you to download for free with directions on how to make your own. So here goes!
What you will need:
- White cardstock paper – I’ve linked one of my favorite types of cardstock paper that works great in printers
How to make these Gem Valentine Cards:
1. Download and print the Gem Valentine cards linked right below onto the white cardstock paper. There are 4 to a page so make sure to print as many as you need. I ended up printing 6 copies to total 24 individual valentine cards.
2. Cut along the pink rectangular outline with the scissors or using a paper cutter. See the picture below to see how each individual valentines should look once cut out
3. Fold the Valentine cards in half lining the corners up nicely. See the picture below for reference
4. Fill each ziplock bag with 1 gem ring and 1 candy bracelet and zip it shut
5. Then place the folded Valentine card over top of the zipper part of the bag kind of like a sandwich and staple it on. Do this for all of the Valentines. See the picture below for reference
6. Then have your child write their name in the “From:” section on all of the Valentine cards
