Who has loads of packages arriving just in time for Christmas? We do! Next time a package arrives, save the packing paper to make your own Christmas wrapping paper. We love recycling any type of packaging, so this craft definitely checks that box. It’s also great because…it’s free wrapping paper!
My 2 year old is the one creating our DIY Christmas wrapping paper. This is such a fun craft for her that’s providing lots of fine motor exercise and creativity. And her finished product is going to be used to wrap up her grandparents Christmas presents. I think most grandparents would love to receive their Christmas presents wrapped in a DIY wrapping paper from their favorite grandkids!
For this craft you’ll need:
- Recycled packing paper or just get your own from the link below
- White paint
- Sponge
- Scissors
Here’s what you’ll need to do:
1. Lay the packing paper out flat
2. Cut the sponge into different sized Christmas trees
3. Dip the sponge tree into the white paint
4. Stamp the Christmas tree onto the packing paper
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to create a Christmas tree farm
6. Dip your finger in the paint and add some fingerprint snow too
7. Let dry. Below are images of our different wrapping paper designs that are drying
8. Then wrap up your presents and add any ribbon that you’d like. Check out the picture below to see our finished product.
